Procedure for changing N-number to custom number

1. Go on to FAA registry website and reserve desired available number.  The cost is $10.00. Just reserving the number does not constitute officially changing the number on your aircraft,…yet.
   
   
   
2. To change the registration number of your aircraft, send a letter requesting the assignment of the different number to your aircraft. This letter must describe the aircraft by the:
1. name of the manufacturer
2. model designation
3. serial number
4. current U.S. registration number
   
   The aircraft owner must sign the letter in ink, include their typed or printed name with their signature and show their title if appropriate. It is also helpful if a telephone number and current mailing address for the owner are included.
   
   
   
3. After the new registration card is received.  Remove the old number sna install the new numbers.
   
   
4. IMPORTANT!!  Make a logbook entry removing the old numbers and installing the new numbers.
